Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, called Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October of 1980, from Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American songwriter, singer and actress. Ashanti was first discovered when she was an teen and became signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always on Time track both of which have become huge hit songs. The Declaration, Ashanti's fourth studio album was released June 3, 2008. Hey Baby After the Club came out on October 16 to both radio and digital platforms. The actress also appeared in the film Christmas in the City, Army Wives and Latasha Monteclair. The track Rock wit U was sampled by British musician Aitch for his hit song Baby on 10 March 2022.
